If you're considering becoming Catholic or a Catholic that never received First Communion or Confirmation, we invite you to try the RCIA process (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults introduces adults to the teachings of the Catholic Church, the Bible, and the Sacramental Life. Although specifically designed for those thinking about becoming Catholic, this program is a safe place for all others who are simply curious about the Catholic Church.
RCIA prepares men and women to make a conscious choice whether or not they want to receive the sacraments of initiation offered by the Catholic Church (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation).
Although we do not accept children into the RCIA program, we do have other available sacrament classes so that at the Easter Vigil, all members of the family might receive their sacraments together!
Check out our "Youth" section of our webpage to see what would be the best fit for them!
This is the right place for you! We know that life could have taken some odd turns, that is why our sessions speak both to those who have never been exposed to Jesus as well as those who have some previous knowledge of Him.
We know that after some of us received our Confirmation, further education in the faith was limited or non-existent. This has led to many questions with which we find ourselves wrestling. For any questions you may have, contact Msgr. Steve Knox [email protected]
Our adults in RCIA have an opportunity to grow in their relationship with God, themselves, and the other adults who are also considering joining the Catholic Church. At our weekly sessions, we learn together, ask questions, and encourage one another in our journey of faith. St. Bridget's RCIA will begin meeting in October 2024. If your work schedule or some other issue makes this day and time problematic, please let us know, and we will work something out for you.
The first step to explore the RCIA process is to contact Deacon John Gibson at [email protected] so that together we can discover the best way to help you grow closer to Christ and His Church.
"If up till now you have kept Him at a distance, step forward. He will receive you with open arms. If you have been indifferent, take a risk: you won't be disappointed. If following Him seems difficult, don't be afraid, trust Him, be confident that He is close to you."
-Pope Francis
